Randolph Pearson , MD, FACSM, FAAFP
Biography
Dr. Pearson is a professor in the MSU Department of Family Medicine and an associate director of the UMH Sparrow/MSU Family Medicine Residency. He is a member of the AAFP-RPS Panel of Consultants and the STFM Competency-Based Medical Education Task Force. He received his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1981 and has been a fellow in the MSU Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship Program. He is board certified in family medicine. Dr. Pearson is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine.
A former team physician for MSU football, he served as physician for the United States delegation to the 1999 World University Games in Mallorca, Spain, and served as the medical director of the Michigan Breast Cancer Three-Day for several years. He received the MSU-CHM Outstanding Clinician Award in 2015 and the STFM President’s Award in 2025.
