Denny Martin, DO is a Graduate of the Lyman Briggs School of Natural Science and the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Genesys Regional Medical Center (now Ascension – Grand Blanc, MI) and continues to practice and be Board Certified in his specialty. He and his family moved to Lansing in 2010 to join the teaching faculty and women’s healthcare practice at the College of Human Medicine here at Michigan State. While at MSU, he rose to the level of Associate Chair of Clinical and Academic Affairs of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Biology. He joined the ObGyn Residency faculty at E.W. Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, MI in July 2016 as Associate Program Director.

Dr. Martin’s research activity has included medical education as well as clinical research into human reproduction and has resulted in co-authoring 15 peer reviewed publications. In June of 2018, he was selected to serve as the Executive Medical Director of Physician Performance for Sparrow Health System. In this position he successfully led the systemization of the credentialing and peer review processes for Sparrow Health System. In April 2020, he was promoted to the role of Chief Medical Officer for E.W. Sparrow Hospital and served in that role until April of 2022, when he accepted the position of Interim President through the end of April 2023. At this time, he led the organization through their integration into the University of Michigan Health System. In September 2023, he accepted the full time President position at University of Michigan Health – Sparrow Lansing where he served until January 2025.  Since then, he has been advising the leadership team at the Greater Flint Health Coalition to advance health outcomes in his home community of Flint/Genesee County, MI. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to northern Michigan with his wife and daughters.
